Mediation

Workplace mediation or facilitated discussion can be a positive and constructive approach to working through workplace conflict. Workplace mediation offers people an opportunity to engage in workplace conflict in a different way, with the potential to increase understanding and generate agreed outcomes that improve the situation and allow the parties to move forward.

Workplace mediation offers a process to assist with workplace conflict, relationship and communication issues. It is designed to:

  • Improve understanding between the parties in relation to the issues and each party’s needs and concerns

  • Help parties to a conflict or dispute have difficult conversations in the interests of resolving the issues between them

  • Allow each person an opportunity to speak and be heard

  • Support parties to listen to each other

  • Be as confidential as possible to support openness between the parties

  • Focus on intentional and joint exploration of options and problem-solving

  • Improve communication

  • Support ongoing and constructive working relationships

  • Support parties to consider, discuss and agree how they would like their working relationship to be in the future.
